About Jewelry Artist DeAnna Cochran. bio Purpose, faith, love and a desire to "make a difference"; this is the story of Metalsmith DeAnna Cochran. The Artist's love for the medium began with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in metalwork from the University of North Texas' College of Visual Arts and Design. After a 15-year detour with a successful corporate career as a quality consultant and Six Sigma Black Belt the Artist returned to her passion for the art following a tragic loss. The Artist's son Jackson was born 4 months premature and after 3 weeks in the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) the artist lost her son. Touched by the experience in a profound, life changing way the artist had the faith that this experience had a purpose in her life. True to her spirit of finding the good in all situations she set out on a personal mission to "make a difference" and help others by telling her story through her work. Proceeds from the collection benefit non-profit children's organizations and many are dedicated to specific children's story and their cause. It was no surprise that the Artist took her passion to be a conscious artist one step further. DeAnna Cochran is also considered a green Artist. Her designs are made from reclaimed fine silver, bronze, and 22k gold. This is her way of reducing her footprint on the environment and helping not only todays generation but also the future generations. Best known for her series of hand carved leaves and nature designs her work has been recognized by fashion, television, & news publications including NBC, ABC, Modern Jeweler, Lucky Magazine, OK! Because of her use of individual leaves, and items from nature to make each piece, no two pieces are exactly alike. The result is a one-of-a-kind piece as unique as the owner of one of her creations. The Artist carves in fine silver, 22 karat gold, and bronze. She ulitizes re-claimed metals and vintage pieces further reducing her footprint on the environment.
